From Frozen to Flavored: Creative Margarita Cocktails to Satisfy Every Taste
Introduction:
The Margarita is believed to have originated in Mexico in the 1930s or 40s. There are several stories about how the cocktail was created but one of the most popular theories is that it was invented by a bartender named Carlos "Danny" Herrera in Tijuana Mexico. According to legend a customer asked Herrera to make a drink that would pair well with the Mexican food he was eating but he didn't like any of the options on the menu. So Herrera mixed tequila, lime juice and triple sec together and served it to the customer in a salt rimmed glass. The customer loved it and the Margarita was born.
Today, the Margarita is quite possibly of the most famous mixed drink on the planet and there are numerous minor departure from the essential recipe. For example, you can make a frozen Margarita by blending the ingredients with ice or you can use different types of tequila (such as reposado or añejo) to give the cocktail a different flavor profile. You can also add fruit purees or juices (such as strawberry or mango) to create a fruity twist on the classic Margarita.
